Know Your Deepest Part

It's time to understand that we are more than what we see and think and feel.

As human beings, we have three dimensions but we tend to only focus on two of them: the physical, which includes our body and the psychological which consists of the mind primarily and includes the emotion and the will. This is where we spend most of our time so we're familiar with these two areas.

Barely a moment goes by when we're not thinking and whatever we think produces our feeling. If you're thinking happy thoughts you're going to feel pretty good and if you're thinking unhappy thoughts you're not going to feel good - they're very much connected - but they're all in the psychological realm.

Something that is so crucial to know is that we have a deeper part. I'm sure that, to some extent, we're all aware of this, even though we may have never learned about it. We're all aware of it because there are times when we experience it. It's not physical and it's not psychological but it's every bit as real, if not more so - it's the spiritual dimension.

Let me give you a simple example, which I'm sure you've all experienced at some point - your intuition. There are times when you just know, deep down, you know if something feels right or if it feels wrong. Even though you may have the intention to go and do something, that inner sense, even though it's not logical, is telling you don't do it. Or your mind is saying you really shouldn't do that thing but, deep down inside, you know that you need to do it. I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about.

This deeper part of us, the spiritual dimension, is important. We don't ever want to forget about this part. It's deeper than our thinking, deeper than our mental intelligence. This part is the real you and the real me. This is where we find awareness, beyond all the noise of the outside world and the busy mind.

“We are here to find that dimension within ourselves that is deeper than thought." ~Eckhart Tolle
