A Delightful Absence of Stress

Once you see where your stressful feelings come from, they can lose their power, just like that.

I've spent most of my life being anxious and worrying about things, like so many people do. What changed for me was when I realised how we operate as human beings.

I used to get up and go about my day, listening to the never ending soundtrack in my head. All these random thoughts would fly in and I would give them my attention because I thought they were all important. I was like a leaf in the wind, blowing this way and that, my emotions fluctuating all over the place.

And then I learned something very important.

I learned that, as humans, we have a very active thought process and these thoughts are what produce our feelings. Because our thoughts create the way we feel, we're actually feeling our thinking. Consider that for a moment: we're feeling our thinking.

Every now and then, we come across knowledge which is wisdom and, if we only intellectualize it, it loses its impact. I took some time to consider this knowledge about the fact that we're feeling our thinking and it became wisdom to me. I was able to step outside of my experience and see what was going on from a deeper and higher place.

The Aha Moment

What I saw was that I was a thinking being and that I was thinking almost continually. In that moment, I was able to step away from what I was thinking and recognise that I was thinking.

The most amazing thing happened after that.

Many of those anxious thoughts I used to have just vanished. They just vanished. I didn't need to learn a special technique or practice changing the way I think, or anything like that. It was just an awareness, an awareness of how we operate as human beings. Out of that awareness came an understanding that enabled me, every time I had a thought, to see what was going on and to just let that thought go.

As a consequence, so much drama disappeared from my life - so much worry, so much anxiety...

This is why I make these videos. If I can see something which has set me free from so much anxiety, so much stress and worry, and from being imprisoned in my mind, in my thoughts - if I can be set free from all that, I want to share it with you so that you can be set free too.
